The 48 Hour Film Project in Madison will hold its kickoff gathering in the first floor galleries on Friday, October 10 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
The 48 Hour Film Project is an electrifying and immersive experience that catapults filmmakers into a whirlwind of creativity and collaboration. Film Teams—from beginners to pros—compete to make a short film in only a weekend! It all begins with the Friday night Kickoff event when Film Teams draw genres out of a hat and receive the required elements for the films. Doors open for the Kickoff at 5:30pm. The completed films will premiere at the Bartell Theater, 113 East Mifflin Street, on Saturday, October 25, 2025 starting at at 6:00pm.
