I grew up quilting, surrounded by Mennonite quilt traditions. From that, I've carried a few design tendencies, including using black as a background color, utilizing simple piecing techniques, and using a solids and monochromatic prints so my fabric stash can be limited, while still giving me a full palette of color. I hand piece all of my quilts because I enjoy the meditative nature of that, and the design flexibility it offers. Two of the quilts in this exhibit will be donated to GSAFE; I've made quilts for each of their annual quilt auctions and enjoy both the chance to play with color and their annual themes, and to support their work.
Stitch... When Things Break
