Sound Worlds with Sven Fredrik

Arts + Literature Laboratory and the LAB^4 community curation team welcome Swedish percussionist Sven Fredrik for a live performance, Sound Worlds, on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 7:00pm. Free admission.

The talented Swedish percussionist, Sven Fredrik, made his solo debut in October 2021 with imaginative instrumental music in the borderland between electronica and psychedelic/avant-garde. With drums as the foundational instrument, he draws inspiration from his local flourishing electronic sphere, nature, space and even Elvis Presley. Fredrik's compositions are crafted with broad strokes and intricate details, offering a distinctive auditory experience. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to experience the mesmerizing sounds of Sven Fredrik live on this short US Summer tour!

Percussionist Sven Fredrik

Since the turn of the millennium, Sven Fredrik has been active in the Indie rock context and has toured extensively in both Europe and North America. His self-titled debut album was released digitally and on cassette through Lamour Records. Sven Fredrik's second solo album, Through the Rosen Bridge, is a deepening and refinement of the exploration between drums and electronica, where playfulness and interesting collaborations are the watchwords. The album blends acoustic and electronic percussion with sampling-based electronica that is both timeless and forward-looking. Alongside his solo project, Sven Fredrik plays drums in Memoria and a few other projects.

LAB^4 community curatorial projects are made possible by a grant from the Ruth Foundation for the Arts.
