M.T. Kosobucki

My name is MT Kosobucki, and I am a midwestern-born photographer.

After a youth and early adulthood focused on athletics, photography found me at a later age. While studying abroad in Seville, Spain for my Spanish degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I cultivated a relationship with Antonio Perez, the instructor of the photography course I participated in on a whim. Antonio became a friend and my first mentor, enlightening me about the endless possibilities of what can be done with a still camera.

After a couple of years of self exploration I completed a master’s in Photojournalism and Creative Documentary Photography at the Spéos Institute of Photography and Video, in tandem with the historic photo agency, Magnum. Since leaving this program, I have spent the last 3 years rooted back in the Midwest in order to pursue work exploring themes connected to my upbringing in the American Midwest while also allowing curiosity to guide myself and my work into new places and experiences. .
