Emily Popp is a fashion and costume designer, teaching artist, performer, and creator of the small handmade fashion brand The Popp Town Mall. Her artistic practice centers on the repurposing and transformation of found and secondhand materials. Emily’s definition of fashion includes anything worn on the body. She considers fashion to be one of the most accessible art forms, a means of individual artistic and intimate expression shared daily. Emily has extensive experience teaching art and textile craft to students of all ages and currently works as a costume designer for the University of Wisconsin Opera. Emily holds a Master's degree in Fashion and Textiles from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Post-Baccalaureate in Fashion from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
