Arts + Literature Laboratory and the Women Artists Forward Fund will announce the recipients of the 2023 Forward Art Prize on Thursday, October 26, during a reception held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
The mission of the Women Artists Forward Fund is to address gender disparity issues that exist for women artists, by providing them with financial resources to strengthen their work, along with recognition and community support to leverage their creative capital.
The Forward Art Prize offers two annual, unrestricted $10,000 awards for women visual artists living in Dane County, WI who show exceptional creativity in their work and compelling prospects for the future. Selections are made through an open, juried, competitive application process each summer.
The two recipients of the $10,000 awards from the Women Artists Forward Fund will be announced during this reception, along with five finalists who will receive $1,000 awards supported by Dane Arts.
