Memorial Reading and Celebration of Susan Elbe's Life

Susan Elbe, award-winning and widely admired Madison poet, died on September 24 of this year. This reading provides an opportunity to hear her poetry read by members of the Lake Effect Poets (Susan’s writing group), and by other attendees who wish to join in (Susan's books will be on hand at the event).

Her  books included Eden in the Rearview Mirror (Word Press, 2007) and The Map of What Happened, which won the 2012 Backwaters Press Book Prize and the Julie Suk award from Jacar Press for the best book published by an independent publisher in 2013. Her two chapbooks were “Light Made from Nothing” (Parallel Press, 2003) and “Where Good Swimmers Drown” (Concrete Wolf Press 2012), which was the winner of the 2011 Concrete Wolf Chapbook prize.

Please note, a separate memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 11th,  2 at p.m., a memorial service at Blackhawk Country Club.
